"So he spoke this parable to them, saying: 'What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it?
And when he has found it, he lays it upon his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost.'
I say to you that likewise, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety nine just persons who need no repentance." -Luke 14:4-7
This was inspired via the song from 'The Prince of Egypt'- "Look Through Heaven's Eyes"- being in my head for the day: particularly the lines 'A lake of gold in the desert sand/is less than a cool fresh spring/And to one lost sheep a shepherd boy/Is greater than the richest king.'
Although I wanted the shepherd to look much older than a boy, of course. Perhaps the same one who appears with the others at Christ's birth?
Also, sheep are surprisingly hard to draw. Any thoughts/comments/critiques are always welcome!
I think everything looks great. I love your coloring style lately more so with the relgious pieces, it gives them more emotion I think.
The only thing I can see is that the Sheperds left arm looks a little thicker than his right. Maybe that's just me :/
I love that song from the 'rince of Egypt' taht movie is so full of win.~

I just adore the sepia-toned coloring you used on this and the anatomy is just amazingly done. Also, yes, love the parable, it lifts me up whenever I am feeling really down and mopey. Wonderful work here on his expression, great job. For crit, as someone already said, the shephard's right (our left) arm looks a little thin, but that's it. ^^
